How to Deal With Loneliness

Finding your authentic self, or attempting the journey, is a big part of a healthy life. However, the moment the journey begins, people often begin to feel different from their social environment and those who closely surround them. At some point, it is very common for loneliness to set in. There are several reasons for this, and they subtly vary from person to person.
Interestingly, from my experience, the road to feeling like you are getting your life back is similar for most people. Often loneliness is a stage, or a better analogy is 'a waiting room'. It is the universe giving you the time to figure things out. In the Tarot, this is the point of the Hermit card - taking time to go within one's self to understand what you want. It allows you to ask the barebones questions of life:
Am I on the right track?
Did I enjoy what just occurred?
How do I change direction in life?
The waiting room lasts until we can answer these questions for ourselves. And if you never get an answer, the only important part is that you are okay with not having an answer.
To bring in the big guy for a second, and to paraphrase Jesus in John 17:14-16 we are to be in the world but not of the world. There will be a great many things that the world will not like about you. So it can be a lonely place. Which is why satisfaction, contentment and even guidance must come from within.
This doesn't mean you will be alone in your thoughts, or physically alone forever - it really comes down to allowing your inner voice to guide you no matter how crowded your day gets.
